PDFsam Basic

Nowadays, PDF files are used by an increasing number of computer users. That's because PDFs can be read using a single small application, they are impossible to modify and also take up very little hard disk space compared to other formats. But despite its popularity, the PDF format has some drawbacks. One of them is the impossibility to split and join more PDFs together. Let's suppose one needs to have a PDF file containing a single page of a large document. In this situation, using Adobe Reader, the default viewer for PDF files, would be useless. The user can, of course, turn to more advanced software, like Adobe Acrobat, but this program is very difficult to use, takes up a lot of system resources and it's also expensive.

The best idea would be using PDFsam Basic, a software for splitting and joining PDFs using simple settings. The software can be installed on almost any version of the Windows operating system and can be installed without problems by any type of user. It takes up around 3 MB of hard disk space, which is extremely low compared to Adobe Acrobat or other similar programs.

The functionality of PDFsam Basic is based on plugins. The ones that come with the application allow joining, extracting, merging and rotating PDF pages. For this to happen, the user just needs to import the desired PDF file or group of files into PDFsam Basic. After having done this, making the necessary changes and clicking on the Run button will create a new PDF file in the same location as the original one.

The software is compatible with PDF files created using any version of Adobe Acrobat. When loading it into the program, the version will be displayed next to the file's name.
